The Caves
of Collepardo are located about 30m above the river Fiume, which has
hollowed out its valley in the course of millions of years. The sp0ace is
made up of two chambers, the smaller one curretnly closed ot the public in
order to protect the resident colony of bats. There is an extremely
beautiful display of stalactites and stalagmites. The Caves are also
significant from the point of view of archaeology, since early animal and
human (Bronze Age) remains have been found there.
Il Pozzo d'Antullo
The Sink of Antullo is a huge voragine of carsica
origin, created as a result of the sprofondamento of the time of a cavity
basement, of ovoidale shape, the whose circumference is of 300m and maximum
depth of 70m. along the vertical walls they hang wonderful curtains of stalatti
to you, while the bottom is hidden from one rich and lussureggiante vegetation.
The rarity of the phenomenon and the same wild and left aspect have ignited
in the centuries the popular fantasy, that it has interlaced legends and fantastic
storys on the origin of the sink.
